Choosing a therapist is a big step, so let’s start with the basics: I’m here to provide a safe, down-to-earth space where you (or your child) can feel heard in a non-judgmental environment . Whether you’re navigating a cluttered mind, a chaotic home, or tricky family dynamics, I’m here to provide the tools, confidence, and validation you need to move through life’s hard, messy, and complicated moments.
I work with individuals ages 5 and up, meaning I’m just as comfortable sitting on the floor playing therapeutic games as I am diving into deep, complex conversations with adults.
Therapeutic Approaches
To help you navigate life’s “hard and messy” moments, I draw from a versatile toolkit of evidence-based practices:
- Psychodynamic Therapy: We’ll explore the “why” behind your patterns, looking at how your past experiences and relationships shape your present.
- ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention): The gold standard for treating OCD and specific anxieties, helping you face fears in a safe, controlled way.
- EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing): A specialized, evidence-based approach to help you process and move past traumatic or distressing life experiences.
- Motivational Interviewing (MI): A collaborative way to help you find your own internal motivation for change and decision making when you’re feeling stuck.
- Self-Compassion: We’ll work on silencing that harsh inner critic and replacing it with the same kindness you’d offer a good friend.
- Yoga & Somatic Awareness: Because stress doesn’t just live in our heads, I can integrate yoga-informed movement and breath-work to help you reconnect with your body.
- CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) & DBT Skills: We’ll work on shifting unhelpful thought patterns and building a skillset of mindfulness and emotional regulation skills.
